    Hot Damn!
That is cool. I fish the Trinity for steel with a friend of mine but not until much later in the season. I do want to try the salmon in that water.

May I ask what general area? I just don't know if you are on the lower or upper. I usually fish from Junction City down a dozen miles or so.

    Thanks for the report.

    Cheers,

    Trinity river

Fished Trinity river this morning. After two previous skunks, I was hoping for a better outcome. The river didnt disappoint today. My buddy and I arrived just before sunup, got ready to fish and hit my first hole. Within 5 minutes I was hooked up into a 5 pound native steelhead. Another 5 minutes goes by and my buddy gets about an 18 inch native steelhead. About a half an hour goes by and I get my second fish of the day, a couple pound jack salmon. That was it for the first hole. Down the road to hole number 2. This is my favorite hole on the Trinity and usually doesnt disappoint. Sure enough the hole was on fire. We ended the morning here with me catching 4 more salmon and losing a toad, and my buddy getting another salmon as well. The salmon were a mixture of jacks and adults. Finished the morning at 11;00. Nice pile of fish marinating for the smoker tomorrow. Didnt see another fisherman all day. All fish were caught on red roe. Cant wait to go next weekend, as it will only get better. Dave
