    The ole' wives tales are plentiful. When I was growing up mom would tell me at times quit acting like a heathen, that wasn't a ole'wives tale, there was a belt in moms hand.
    I too started smoking about 12yrs old and quit in 1997

    Yeah, used to hear something else would make you go blind, but apparently that is another old wives tale. Lol.

    When I got out of the service (1973) the PX was charging $1.85 a carton for regular cigs. I think here they run from $48 to $70 a carton depending on the type of smokes. I am glad I quit too Bill somewhere around 1987.....Jetspray
