How fast should those be trolled? I know the pro trolls you want the rod tip to pump every second but I don’t think those triangles will cause that action since they don’t rotate like that.
Yeah you can troll them slower. I put the whole set up over the side and watch the action on the lure/herring and adjust the speed accordingly.
    Here they come!

    Sac metro salmon update

I’ve been out five times between Miller and Freeport within the last week and a half. Action has been okay - not crazy but not terrible. Seems like most boats I talk are getting action but haven’t seen or heard of many limits at all. I have hooked up with 6 fish so far and have lost every one at the boat or close to it. Frustrating! Best colors were rotten banana, black jack and halovorkian.
Trying to figure out how to stop losing them so close. I know I am using a shorter rod (8’6”) for the pro troll flasher/cut plug which is part of the problem. But I’m thinking about switching to either a smaller flasher or the triangle flasher to shorten the leader. Or just loosening the drag and fighting those things till they’re half dead and just go in to the net. Any advice would be appreciated.
