    Tie a lanyard on the wire you just installed then pull it back out. Now tie a new positive wire onto that, then pull the lanyard back out. Problem solved. Piece of cake.

    I would run a separate set of power wires for your fish finder or terminate it to your fuse block. I know it doesn't seem like you would get any interference if you splice them both back at the battery but electrical interference could be an issue.

    If you splice it in, there is a good chance that you will get electrical interference on the sonar whenever the trolling motor is on since they share the same power supply. Plus, if you drain the trolling battery, voltage might drop too low for the sonar to work.

    A thought—get a small battery (motorcycle size) specifically for the sonar and leave the deep cycle battery for the trolling motor.

    Yes ,,, be sure to have an in line fuse for the Fishfinder.

    Fish finder wiring: need help!!

    Hey All,

    I recently added a trolling motor to the bow of my jon boat. I ran the wiring through a casing to the back, and just as I was finished, I realized that I needed to add wiring for a trolling motor as well. My question is this: Can I splice the trolling motor wire harness and add the fish finder wire, connecting both to the main wire that runs to the battery?
