"Common sense" disappeared a long time ago. And it's not likely to return.

Same thing down in Freeport. Idiot boaters anchor right in the middle of a good drift because they're too lazy. If you're not careful you'll bump right into them. What the hell were they thinking with so many boats drifting?! Common sense isn't common anymore.

+1 ; Did not really see boats anchored and jigging before until about 2 or 3 years ago. I must have missed the memo.

It's hard enough keeping the line vertical while jigging with the current. On anchor, you can forget that.

I hate to admit it but the fishing etiquette is no better from shore. I walked away from my spot not even for 2 minute as this guy walked right in where I was standing. There was a small disagreement and I'm sure he called me a name in his native language. ...but cmon man!!

It goes both ways. I love getting dirty looks for the idiots that anchor in the middle of the just outside the launch at Verona. I'm going 3 MPH up river to get back to the launch and these idiots want to throw their hands up and expect me to go slower. You're already cutting off the entire river for everyone else. I could give two craps if you dont like my 3 MPH

Common sense seems to get left at home, doesn't even make it to the ramp!

Yep. Same here. Had a guy wide open split the 30-40ft between me and the shore and yank the wheel to keep from hitting the next boat drifting down above us.
I’ve been dragged off anchor , bumped into twice on anchor, and even had a boater who couldn’t set anchor after 7+ tries and asked to tie up to my boat to fish!!! WTF???

I've noticed the same thing at Garcia, seems to be getting worse each year.
    Here they come!

    Unhappy Boat Driving Skills Decline

I've fished the Sac river this time of year for over 20 years. I am disheartened by how many people (including several fishing guides) will drive through the trolling areas when there is plenty of room to avoid that area. For example, I watched last Monday many boats including fishing guides drive on the East side of the river at Garcia Bend (where the fish and fishermen are concentrated) when the west side is wide open. So sad . . .so rude. . .
