    Re: proposed trout opening day

Today was the big meeting in Sacramento. Hopefully they update the list with changes made in the past few months from the public and DFW region offices.

Adoption meeting of ALL these proposals is in June.

    Re: proposed trout opening day

Be very happy with a five (5) trout limit...........................

Reno waters now has a three (3) trout pond and Truckee river limit !!

I don't know if it is the population or the cost of raising planters but.........
one NEEDS to go out and fish MORE, to feed a big family, if you want trout for a meal !!

Here is the recently updated list. Things are still fluid and changes, hopefully, are still being made. Look up your local waters here: https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.a...=175721&inline[/QUOTE]

Very helpful link, thanks. I was especially interested in the information about the American River.

I catch more brown in that river than trout and a smaller trout gives me hope that they are spawning naturally . I know i see Kokanee spawn , but never trout , but i will get a few dinkers time and time again and thats good !
wish most rivers had smaller natural spawners . it be cheaper on the state as well.

    Re: proposed trout opening day

Five trout season options are being proposed for state waters. Depending on water, it could be:
    1-Open All year.
2-Open Saturday preceding Memorial day through last day in February.
3-Open Saturday preceding Memorial day through September 30.
4-Open October 1 through Friday preceding Memorial day.
5-Open Last Saturday in April through November 15 (Eastern Sierra Waters).

Question Re: proposed trout opening day

Only thing that I heard last year was they were talking about a year round deal. Maybe Captain Compassion might chime in....Jetspray
