Re: 8-13: kehoe wide open hog heaven

We spent yesterday watching everyone around us catch fish. Tried RSK's and FBR's most of the day for one shaker and a jacksmelt that hit an FBR. We trolled along with the masses but still nada. The excitement of the day came at 4:15 on the way back to Lawson's between Elephant and Bird in about 60'. A big fish, maybe 20#, on a watermelon dodger and Apex. Fought it for about 15 minutes to the bot just out of net's reach then it made a dive and the hook came out. Boo! What a bummer! Oh well, that's fishin!

FISH ON! (or off as the case may be!)

8-13: kehoe wide open hog heaven

this weekend has lived up to it's billing with the anchovy bait still holding in tight balls close to shore - in less than 50' of water. dave on the payback left by 10:00 with limits of high quality salmon - most over 20#. moochers were equally successful and there were plenty left over for the rock cod fishermen who came late to troll. i heard of some success with watermelon krocs, but bait was the star today. any color, any depth. elephant rock to abbot's lagoon in close. giddyup. [by the way, it's not 'keyhole' beach, it's 'kehoe']
