    Re: trout fishing at beryessa?

We use to troll the mouth of the Narrows using topline w/ minnows during the spring lake turnover (usually mid-March). Use 6-8 lb. test, split shot, troll very, very, slowly. Similar to coasting in neutral, using the wind to propel you. Slightest hookup - free spool and give out line. Good for catching big trout, 5-8 lbs average. Normal trolling methods using Ford Fenders and Needlefish (or Triple Teaser) combo yields average size trout and kokanee, once you find the right depth. Our normal trolling pattern would be from Steele Park/Markley Cove/ & Dam. You should talk to the Marina Staff re: latest scoop - they know whats working.

Water melon or silver prizm dodger pulling a green or red wedding ring tipped with either corn or a small piece of night crawler shoul do the trick. The last time I was there small apexes where getting kokes as well.
