4x4 only if there's recent snow, but hardly ever needed. bring your toon! Getting a boat in there takes a bit of work, but the reward of monster trophy cutts, bows and browns await you!

    Late report. Salt Springs Res.

I will say I don't always post when I go fishing. I have been to Salt Springs 2 times this past month and a few other lakes. While the other lakes were a bit slow; I can usually find a better bite here. This is a WILD trout lake, so I like to do CnR when I can. I have only taken one 6#er and one 10#er out of here due to bleeding :-(. Last week, I hauled my car topper down to the water(no boat ramp here!) with my friend from Arnold. Me and him love to fish here in the Winter! The road is usually open as it is plowed. It is a long 30miles in the canyon! In the two trips we caught noting big except a brown pushing 5#s, the rest were from 12 to 20 inches being browns, rainbows and a few cutts. From the surface to 35ft on the downriggers. Usually we get a few fish between 3#s and 8#s but idk maybe this nice weather has the fish confused! lol.

Here is a lil fish porn, the one under 5#s.

My next post about here will be in a few weeks when I can make it back up there!!! Any qustions about the road and lake feel free to ask!!

If anyone wants to tag along let me know. It is a bit of adventure fishing it, so overnite trips are a must! The lake is at about 60,000 acre feet right now! Nice and low!
