    Was a heck of a fight for sure...about a size 14 Pheasant Tail deep under an indicator, if anyone cares. Thanks for the ID!

    That is a trout planted by the Alpine County Department of Fish and game and comes from American Trout and Salmon, a private hatchery in Susanville. Very nice fish.

    The long axis of the mouth of the net is 14" if that helps.

    Most likely a hatchery fish if you were fishing above Hangman's Bridge. Either from the DFG or Alpine county. Was it a Bow, Cutt or Brown? How big?

    East Carson hatchery fish?

    I caught a trout in the East Carson today that had its adipose fin, but had had the top 4-5 rays of its tail clipped off. Any idea of the origins of this fish?
