Rental Boaters, Shore Anglers Nail Rainbows

LIVERMORE – Heavy trout plants at Los Vaqueros Reservoir have kept the trout bite going lately. A total of 20,000 pounds of Mt. Lassen rainbow trout have gone into the lake since November, according to Manuel Bermudez, manager of the Los Vaqueros Marina.

The most recent plant was on February 18, when 2,000 pounds of trout were stocked.

“The anglers in rental boats are doing really well,” said Bermudez. “Bank anglers are also catching trout in South Cove and other areas of the lake. Anglers are also picking up some channel catfish in the 3 to 5 lb. range.”
