Stock Day Madness at Yorba Regional Park

Anglers timed the fresh trout stock perfectly at Yorba Regional Park in Yorba Linda and enjoyed wide open action on newly planted lightning and rainbow trout. The cool weather kept the fish active and aggressive as they explored the lake right after the stock truck unloaded.

Most fish came on Magic Twisters dipped in Rusty Garlic scent to leave a strong trail the trout followed eagerly. Switching to red and green mini jigs kept the bite going strong while PowerBait produced little since the fresh stockers preferred chasing lures. Successful catches included a 6.5-pound lightning trout, a 3-pound lightning trout, and a 4-pound rainbow. Bigger fish remain in the lake as other anglers landed and released an 8-pounder and holdover trout from the school appeared even larger.

The bite stays prime right after stocking with Thursdays the usual plant day. Check californiafishplants.com or the California Fish Plants Instagram for exact schedules to hit the next load and cash in on the hot action.
